Cooper City, Florida is in Broward County. It is located about 15 miles southwest of Fort Lauderdale. The city was founded in 1959 by a special act of the Florida Legislature recognizing it as a municipal corporation. Major home construction began in 2006 with the annexation of the Waldrep Dairy Farm. The town covers about seven square miles and has an approximate population of 30,500.

If you climb the observation tower, you are in for a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside. The nature center also features a saltwater aquarium and interactive displays that teach about the region’s ecosystem.
